Hi,

Does anybody know where to get shell pieces custom made? Like for example diamonds for a Panormo style rosette and purfling or my own designs.

Depaule inlay supply in Eugene, Oregon has tons of inlay. They fabricate and source out of Vietnam, but will do custom work. Either you provide precise dimensions and art or they develop designs based on your sketches. They have a one time custom design fee and after that the design is stored on a computer so they can pull it right back up. I talked with the owner about it around a month ago at a local instrument building convention.

Another good place is Precision Pearl (http://www.precisionpearl.com)

They do my script headstock logo and will make a pin router template if desired.

Hi Terence, will Precision Pearl cut from a CAD drawing of the custom inlay?

Yes they will. It has to be in a certain format. I can't remember which but they'll tell you.
